Why it’s tough to compete with the iPad
The iPad is a collection of components. Some are easy to duplicate or to source. This includes memory, microprocessors, communications components. Other components are harder to find and may be expensive once found. This includes the right kind of batteries and the screen. Yet other components are impossible to find or duplicate. That includes software.

Eye of the Tiger video created entirely using iPads was setup and shot over a 2 day period. By doing so photographer Jordan Hollender and musician Scott Harris have upped the ante on what it means to create with an iPad. What is amazing to me is that less than six months ago the world was a twitter over the the first iPad DJ. Now we have people actually creating music from scratch. What’s next?

Overall this is a good thing. As much as I love Apple, competition is a good thing. However, based on Google’s past UI/Design attempts it is tough to see this as taking off with anyone other than the tech geek crowd. Time will tell.

I have to agree with much of what Jason writes in his review. I still haven’t really gotten used to typing on the keyboard and I actually returned the Apple Case in favor of an Incase model but otherwise I’m pretty astounded at new possibilities this device presents.
